About Multiplier
When you’re working for systemic, sustainable impact there is no time to waste — you need a clear path to create change – a strategy, funding, and a strong team. Many foundations and major donors can provide seed funding, but require an established 501(c)(3) organization to receive and steward grants. That’s where Multiplier can help. We are a well-respected and cost-effective home to a select portfolio of projects who are turning game-changing ideas into planet-saving impact. Once approved as a Multiplier project, you get a fast-track to 501(c)(3) status coupled with flexible, adaptable, cost-effective support as a backbone for your success.
Beyond conservation.
Our project portfolio includes crucial land and ocean conservation efforts alongside an array of cross-sector strategies in public health, environmental education, economic development, clean energy, climate resilience, sustainable food systems, energy efficiency, social and environmental equity, and more. Projects are leading change throughout the world, creating strong mission-based outcomes locally, regionally, nationally and internationally with support from many types of funding.
We feel your pain.
Setting up and running a nonprofit is expensive, time-consuming, and complex. The legal and filing fees associated with forming a nonprofit and applying for IRS tax-exemption can cost upward of $20,000, and you can wait months for IRS approval. Upon approval, you’ll be a 501(c)3, but instead of focusing on bringing your programs to scale, you’ll be consumed by expense accounting, insurance, audits, board meetings, payroll processing and myriad of other administrative and operational requirements.
