Experiences Izzy brings into their work
Izzy helps leaders grow teams for bold social change and climate action. They believe high-performing teams are built by embracing the messy parts of what makes us human. As a Black queer femme, Izzy brings both lived experience and deep passion to helping leaders center team members as integral to mission success. With over a decade of work across social and climate justice research, nonprofit leadership, and organizational development, Izzy draws from both executive leadership and strategic advising experience.
They served as the Executive Director of a grassroots LGBTQ+ youth mentoring nonprofit and, prior to that, as the inaugural Director of Programs at an organization focused on economic mobility and coaching for social entrepreneurs. Earlier in their career, they advised government agencies and nonprofits on aligning programs and strategy with justice and equity goals. Together, these experiences shape how Izzy shows up as a co-navigator for leaders creating teams bold enough to take on the world’s biggest challenges.
What brings Izzy joy outside of work
Music is one of the ways Izzy sustains themselves for the long work of social change. Outside of work, you can find them writing music on their guitar, listening to 90s R&B too loud on their headphones, and attending metal concerts across the Midwest (ironically, with earplugs). They also find joy in nurturing their fur babies — 4 cats (Zeke, Millie, Enzo, and Percy) and their corgi, Leeloo.
