John D. Claussen Joins TCI Board
December 9, 2012TCI is pleased to welcome John D. Claussen to our board. He joins five other board members, all of whom have extensive experience in finance, business, nonprofit management, and environmental work.
Mr. Claussen is pleased to be able to draw on his considerable experience to counsel TCI: “Serving on the TCI board allows me to focus on issues of considerable importance to me– strengthening and supporting the ability of nonprofits to successfully design and implement strategies and solutions to address a range of environmental challenges.” Mr. Claussen is currently the Western Pacific Program Officer at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. Before joining the Packard Foundation earlier this year he was a partner at Mazars Starling Resources, a global business advisory firm (formerly Starling Resources, a firm he co-founded in 2004). He has advised and designed environmental, conservation and economic development strategies with business, government, and non-profit clients throughout North America and Asia for more than 15 years. A resident of Indonesia from 2004 to 2012, he has particularly deep experience in Southeast Asia. Previously, he was a senior associate at California Environmental Associates and worked for a number of high-tech manufacturing companies in the Silicon Valley. He also co-founded the non-profit Conservation and Community Investment Forum. He holds a bachelor of science in biology from Valparaiso University, Indiana.
